A Date Gone Bad

I was in a above ground bunker fighting off enemy forces. A group of us were firing out the window, but we couldn't get a solid shot on the enemies above us. I assisted a woman by holding her down as she leaned out the window. Solid teamwork. She was beautiful. Long brunette hair and a very aggressive attitude. She was in jeans and a tank top.

We fought our way out and through a narrow passage. Some how we were split up and I was out numbered. Defeated by four legged beasts with gnashing teeth. They jumped on me like a pack of hyenas and devoured me.

Black out. I'm in a car with a woman, the same woman I helped back at the bunker. What happened? We were battered, bruised and bandaged. I was in the back seat while her child rode shotgun. I don't know his name. I put my hand on her shoulder and caressed her neck as she lay her hand on mine. I had proven myself in battle and she was taking me home to meet her family.

We pull up to a black metal gate that swung open only to reveal a mansion. It looked like the entrance to a palace. I had won my princess and this would be our castle. She introduced me to her family. All twenty of her brothers and sisters were lined up on the steps standing across from their significant others. It looked like a gigantic wedding party.

After the initial introduction I was introduced more personally to her sister's girlfriend. She looked like the type who could peel the skin off a cat... and enjoy it. I was told she was the greatest warrior among them and that she was preparing to fight. Wait... what fight? I ask, but I don't like the answer. She spoke of a tradition in her family. We would fight each other to the death in a giant two man team free for all. 21 couples. 21 teams. If you were of the families blood you were safe. Killing them resulted in a punishment so severe that you would beg for death. The blood winner would become the leader of the pack and their partner would become their mate.

I stood there among the 20 other dispensable meat bags. So this is why she chose me. She chose me so that she could win and become their pack leader. I didn't like this, but the gates closed behind me. Go big or go home.

Analysis

The gun fight was influenced by playing Titanfall all weekend long. What an awesome game. The woman's appearance was from watching this video. That's her. But it became clear that the woman was a direct representation of a girl a dated about 7 months ago. She had a son and looked similar. Our relationship was based only on what I had to offer. She told me how important first impressions are with her dad and that I should be nervous to meet him. She just wanted to bring home the perfect guy. One who her parents would approve of. And clearly The Hunger Games. Why 21? I have no idea. It's a nice number.

I believe the emotion you experience in a dream is a reflection of what you are consciously or subconsciously experiencing in your waking hours. Perhaps I feel like I'm at war. My job is crazy hectic lately.
